About Qualigene
We made a choice: no antibiotics.
Built in Bengaluru by a team with 17+ years across animal health, human medicines, and food production. We watched both industries lean harder into antibiotics, and watched the resistance crisis compound with each season. We chose a different mechanism.
Our Origin
We built this because we couldn't keep watching the same short-cut destroy the same farms.
Seventeen years across veterinary labs, R&D facilities, and farm visits will teach you something no textbook does: the gap between what science can do and what farmers actually have access to is where animals suffer and businesses fail. We saw that gap every time a shrimp pond crashed in the third week, every time a poultry flock came through a cycle with numbers that barely justified the stress. We kept seeing the same response: more antibiotics, a temporary steadying, then the same pressure returning worse the next time. We believed there was a better path. Not as a hypothesis. As a conviction we couldn't set aside.
So we made a choice: walk away from conventional product development and build from biology instead. We set up a full research and manufacturing facility in Bengaluru and made one rule: start with what the farmer faces, not what's easiest to manufacture. That meant slower development, harder questions, and a lot of time on farms in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Goa, and Odisha before anything went into production.
Today Qualigene is the result of that work. Aquaculture producers working through disease pressure. Poultry integrators managing performance without leaning on the habit that's quietly undermining them. If you're one of them (or if you supply them, advise them, or care about what ends up in the food chain), you're exactly who we built this for.
Every animal we help stays healthier without the short-cut that costs everyone later.
"Bacteriophages, phytogenics, and probiotics: not because they're fashionable, but because the biology is sound and the mechanism is clean."
Precision lysis of target pathogens. No residue at harvest. No contribution to resistance.

Why phages and phytogenics
Bacteriophages
Target-specific lysis. A phage for Vibrio parahaemolyticus finds and kills that strain, leaving your probiotic populations, beneficial microbiota, and harvest residue profile untouched.
Phytogenics
Herbal actives at the hepatopancreas: digestive enzyme secretion, oxidative stress reduction, EHP parasite repulsion. For microsporidian infections, the only realistic non-antibiotic tool at commercial scale.
Probiotics
Competitive exclusion of pathogens in pond and gut. Ammonia reduction, organic load breakdown, FCR improvement. Closes the loop on disease pressure that bacteriophages and phytogenics don't cover.

Manufacturing you can verify
Our KSSIDC facility runs under three independent audit frameworks, the same standards required by pharmaceutical-grade and export-market supply chains.
